At Sjambok primary school in Erasmus, which has over 900 students attending, we have identified a large vulnerable population of children in dire poverty and suffering from hunger on a daily basis.  These children, unable to concentrate on their studies because of their extreme physical needs, have received relief and sustenance through AAC's food program at the school.  We provide funds for the nutritional school meal served one day per week to supplement the government's  food program which is served only 4 days per week.

Our future plans include drilling of a borehole (well)  for a fresh water source to facilitate expansion of a small vegetable garden on the school grounds that will be  provide another  food source for the community's neediest children and families .

In keeping with AAC's  belief in the power and importance of education for the poor, we have expanded our role as advocates for the school children of Erasmus community.
Recognizing the crucial role of  educating the youth and equipping them with skills that  will empower them and enhance their abilities and opportunities for  the future, we have  helped to prepare and facilitate a program to equip the school's previously empty computer lab with computers from a  major blue chip corporate donor.
